SkillSelect invitation round 6 September 2017

On 6 September 2017, the Department of Immigration has issued the recent number of invitations in the SkillSelect invitation round.

The numbers of invitations issued for Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) visa were only 1,750 and 46 for Skilled – Regional Provisional (subclass 489) visa.

This shows a high difference of skillselect invitation round in comparison with the earlier invitation dates such as July and August, 2017.

Invitations issued during 2017-18

Invitations issued during 2017-18 were decreased significantly (i.e., 2,000 places in September) for subclass Skilled – Independent (subclass 189) between 2,000 places in July and 2,000 in August. The total number of invitations have been received since July, 2017 is 5750 for the skilled independent visa (Subclass 189).

It is also noticeable that during this time period, the numbers of invitations for Skilled – Regional Provisional (subclass 489) were also lowered considerably from 256 in August to 46 in September. Overall, the numbers of invitations were slowed down significantly for both of this subclass between 2,256 in August and 1,796 in September.

The above figures do not include invitations issued for State and Territory Government nominated visa subclasses. State and Territory Governments nominate throughout the month for specific points tested skilled migration and business innovation and investment visas. Separate results for these visa subclasses are provided monthly.
