Scholarship opportunities from Australian government for local and international students
The Australia’s Department of Education and Training is accepting applications for Australia Awards–Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships, which provide individuals of academic merit with high-quality learning opportunities that contribute to Australia’s standing as a world-leader in education and research.
The Australia Awards–Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships offer support to internationals to undertake study, research or professional development in Australia. To apply, you must be from a participating country and/or region.
Applications for the 2018 round
Applications for the 2018 round of the Australia Awards–Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are open and will close on 11:59 pm (Australian Eastern Standard time) 30 June 2017.
Applicants are encouraged to read the information below and determine their eligibility before commencing an application at http://endeavour.education.gov.au/endeavour.
International Applicants:
Holders of Australian permanent residency are not eligible to apply as international students.
If applying as an international student, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of a participating country and remain so for the entire duration of the program
Furthermore, international students who have already commenced their degree in Australia are ineligible to get funding for the same course.
According to the Department, a total of 4,481 Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships have been received by internationals and 1,330 have been received by Australians to undertake research, study or professional development across 127 eligible countries since 2007.
All recipients will receive:

travel allowance: $3,000 (provision to pay up to $4,500 under special circumstances)

establishment allowance: $2,000 (fellowships) or $4,000 (scholarships)

monthly stipend: $3,000 (paid up to the maximum category duration on a pro-rata basis)

health insurance for the full category duration (OSHC for international recipients)

travel insurance (excluding during program for international recipients)
Endeavour scholarship recipients will also receive tuition fees paid up to the maximum study/research duration on a pro-rata basis. Tuition includes student service and amenities fees.
